Laurentian 8 Mountain Bike Relay Race

Can anyone from the North Bay area tell me what to expect from these trails? This looks like a great event but I'm wondering how beginner-friendly the loop will be.

Here's a link to some event info:

    Thanks!

I have ridden all of the trails in that area, they range from easy to hard. The course is only 10 km and should be fine for beginners. I can ask around and see if I can find out the loop and give it a ride and let you know. Should be a good day, hope you decide to come the more the merrier!

Thanks for the reply. I love the rough and technical riding Northern Ontario has to offer. I have a friend (beginner) who may want to participate but is reluctant to do so if the trails are as rough as say Naughton, for example.

Re: Laurentian 8 Mountain Bike Relay Race

I've ridden the trail. The first approx. 3km's are grassy double track that is mostly a steady upward climb with a few level or down sections and one not so fun, longish, steep uphill. The second half is single track, which reportedly has beginner, intermediate and advanced (rock garden) trails and then it finishes off with a double track (grassy) downhill. I say reportedly on the single track as I was told that was the case but I got a bit confused on the single track and am not sure if I stayed on the correct trails. I was told total km's is about 7.5.

I've received an email stating that this race has been cancelled due to land use issues. Hopefully they get things in order for next year!

    Cheers
