It's not that nice of a bike and I doubt it was $2200 new considering it's Tiagra equipped. I've seen better for the same price locally...same thing, Specialized Tricross but better equipped.

Why do I think half of this build came off the bike racks at the local Uni's?

You know I called the cops about the ad. They cared not a whit!

And yes, that gruppo was a mix of Shimairier, UWtegra, and Conestognolo.....

But why do the stupid kids ride nice bikes to campus??

Well... having worked at a local shop and dealt extensively with the average Queens student. Simply the kids show up and when they come by a bike 95% of the time it was on Daddies credit card. Sorry...but this has to be said....at least at Queen's a generation of students who will do just that and when it goes missing daddy in my experience will pay for another just like the cell phone, lap top and so on. Sadly things are not learned like the value of having a bike.

And as shown here which means this is happening at UofT , Waterloo, McMaster, and every other Uni in Ontario. And understand it isn't always the whole bike that gets stolen. Every year the bike racks get hit at Queen's.. wheels, a handlebar, and so on. Seen several times where thieves want a hydro brake caliper and will cut the line and take just that. So that means thieves know where every rack is on Uni grounds. And they will be watching for specific parts if thety desire that.

Or looking for the right bike locked the right way. To show this I present....

    Exhibit A

I spotted this last Octoberr at UofO. If I was truly a thief this was so perfect....maybe 5 minutes with a allen tool and away I go. Student asks I could claim I lost my key and didn't want the bike to be stolen. Would get the spare from my room. If I was stopped by a cop while walking down with it on one wheel...."Oh...my front wheel was stolen. "

Guess these guys are branching into Bicycle parts.

Muffler Bearing - $33.95 : KaleCoAuto.com, Your home for the rare, unusual, and hard to find auto parts.

So I guess they would stock studded bicycle bearings in the same aisle as Muffler bearings?
