Traffic blitz Thursday morning
All on-duty officers will be out to enforce intersection safety Thursday morning.
From 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., all available police from patrol to the Chief’s office will be looking for drivers failing to stop completely at red lights and stop signs, pedestrians crossing against lights, and cyclists riding through intersections.
The blitz is part of the “all hands on deck” program, and will be the fourth time the service has done it.
Police are warning pedestrians and cyclists that they can be issue ticket for failing to obey traffic laws.
The event is intended increase safety and reduce congestion on city streets.
