Greenwood, the TRCA, and the DMBA

It seems that the cat is out of the bag (was it ever IN the bag?) about the features at Greenwood, and the TRCA would like to talk to the MTB “community” about it. My understanding is that the DMBA plans to host an open house to discuss the future of the stunts:

Ride in Greenwood CA? Know about the stunts? The @TRCAParks and @dmba are hosting an Open House to discuss. Jan 17, 2012. Location TBD.--https://twitter.com/#!/dmba/status/136494186298998784

Thanks for posting this. I wasn't aware that DMBA was actively involved with any land as close to the city as Greenwood.

as to build more progressive stunts? or to use heritage wood work techniques with cedar to build features? or something like this perhaps?

but this is all old school. there is some interesting techniques being developed using state of the art concrete and light weight yet durable materials that allow you to build features and trails in areas not possible before.

Where exactly is the Greenwood Discovery Pavilion? The Greenwood maps from the Town of Ajax web site don't show it. They have a page for the pavilion, but don't say where it is. I don't see anything that resembles it on google satellite view in the conservation area either.

You're right, the Pavillion doesn't show up on Google maps. It was only completed within the last year. It looks like it was constructed on the old large main parking lot. If you enter through the main gates at Greenwood CA and then follow the road into the park, staying to the left, you'll eventually come to the new building and a parking lot. I couldn't seem to find any pictures online, just news releases to say it was being unveiled (July 2011).
    Hope to see you there!
