    Grand River Thanksgiving Epic

Did a nice 50km epic along the Grand River today, lots of singletrack and city trails. Fall colors are in full swing.

It was a great day for a 50km ride.

Hint: Decrease the EV (exposure value) on your camera.
When under pressure, your level of performance will sink to your level of preparation.

Its actually quite deep in the center. About 200' below the dam is a nice shallow area to bike across, very refreshing.

Thanks for the tip, I must admit I know nothing about cameras. Time to bust out the user's manual.

They had to redesign the sides of the dam so that no one could get on it after a few people drowned trying to cross it.

Cool pics Eric. Was out Sunday before dinner and there was tons of people on the trails. 50K? Wow. Lot farther than I've been riding lately. What route did you take?

Started at the powerline rd parking area, rode Hardy Rd trail, onto the Gordon Glaves trail to the dam, rode the trails immediately after the dam then crossed the bridge at the civic center. Rode the Gilkinson Flats into Tutela Heights, crossed the Cockshutt bridge and rode the trails along the grand under the bridge all the way back to the civic center. Got back across the river and rode the pathways through Brant Conservation Area back to Hardy Rd trail. Rode Hardy back to powerline. Long day.......

Nice! Bet the last hill up to the Powerline Rd. parking lot must've been a killer at the end.
