Finishing off the Year Right [o]

My fancy MTB had sat idle for far too long. I received a trail report from thedumbopinion that sounded good, so I put my bike in the truck and headed to Shorthills Provincial Park for a ride. Boy was I glad I did. I had an absolute blast. Trail 2 was pretty much perfect. Trail 1 was a little slower going, but rideable aside from the the big climbs. Here's a few pictures.

A little elf tow built up on my Shimano winter shoes.

I love these things. It's so nice to hike a bike up a hill, and not pack a layer of snow between neoprene booties and my toes.

And a bonus shot of my truck playing in the snow after my ride.

I've only been able to get out on the snowshoes lately, snow around here is just too deep.

Love those Shimano MW80/1s. One of the best things I've bought for the bike. I got out today in Duffins Creek valley, though I've only got one shot to share....

Snow is hard packed and there is ice in spots.

Wine by the fireplace must be consumed with caution

Good start to 2013. I do miss my bike nonetheless.
