Duffins Creek Pickering group ride Saturday

I'm sure some of you are doing Pauls Saturday, but if you're not, and would like to ride some trails in the Duffins Creek Valley in Pickering, I'll be leading a 20-30km ride starting at my place, 1pm.

There's some long sustained climbs, up to 7 good downhills, some quite steep and technical, some tight twisty stuff, some fast flowy stuff, and a wide variety of trail surfaces.

I'm considering BBQing some burgers and hot dogs afterwards at my place. BYOB.

All gearing, frame, fork, pedal, seatpost, and shorts styles are permitted. A full on DH bike would be a pain though, having ridden mine through most of it.

***The controversial 'North Shore' area will not be included in this ride. Anyone that doesn't believe me is free to come on the ride and see for themselves.***

Please enjoy seeing this terrible collection of me - something wonderful is about to happy.

Really? My friend Tim is riding sweep for the 100k. A bunch of my friends are riding Pauls this weekend too.

    There will be more.

Good then. I'll make sure to make it out to them for sure.

Being in Whitby, I keep looking for more places to ride, and people to ride with!

dang , this sounds so tempting. I usually ride out west since I live in Mississauga, but would travel pretty anywhere to ride some different trails and meet some people, especially since I'm really getting a feel for my new ride.
Promised some friends and my son we'd fish the Grand this Saturday.

Let us know the next time you do another one of these rides.

sounds like great weather too, enjoy
    cheers

Do I hit him with it, or just bury him and pretend bears got him?

    EDIT: or both?

To bury. It's to much work to drag out the body and cuts into beer drinking time.

Thanks for organizing the ride this weekend! The trails were lots of fun, and those downhills are definitely bigger than they look in the pictures.

    How's Wes' hand?

Ouch. The fall looked pretty painful. Hopefully it heals fast!

Did you get a chance to upload the pictures/videos? I'm curious how they turned out.

Sunday at Blue was a BLAST. It took me a while to get used to the new DH bike, but having a proper DH bike is really a treat at Blue. I've made it down everything safely on my Nomad before, but a DH bike is within its own league when things get rocky/steep.
