    Buckwallow..

Going up to Buckwallow on Sat (now it looks like a chance of showers.. sigh) never been there - suggestions? any specific trails that I shouldn't miss? I'll ride almost anything (at my pace) but then no huge drops as I'm interested in self preservation... Old&Slow

I am planning on going on Sunday to be there by noon. I live in Mississauga and would show you around if you can wait till then. I am also old and slowish. There are no sudden trail features to surprise you. Dew Drop In and Weasel have some advanced rock features and those would be the only two I would give a pass if you are concerned. West D Nile is all whale backs and awesome. If you go at your own pace like I do, nothing sneaks up on you and you may have to walk a feature or two, but no biggie. Every trail is built with cycling in mind and has great flow. The trails are marked with hooves for difficulty level. You will see that the harder trail markings typically refer to a few features, while the rest of the trail is totally rideable. Just go in there and hit every trail head. You will not be disappointed.

PS shoot me a PM if you are interested in sharing a ride.

    only 40% chance
that means 60% chance of no rain.
i believe the trails were marked from 1 to 5 hoofs depending on there level of difficulty.
i found some marked 3 were more challenging than some with 4.
i guess it all depends on what your specific riding strengths are.

Ask Mike how much longer he plans to be open if you get a chance.

Bit bummed, just realizing I didn't reach there once this season.

Have fun! (pretty easy thing to accomplish there lol)

    Well...
In this day and age of miserable and self absorbed people.. I have to say what a nice guy Mike (and crew) are.. he took the time to say hello - talk to me about the trails and make suggestions.
Really liked Buckshot.. and if I said I rode West D'Nile I'd be lying
I rode some of it - some parts twice once I figured out the correct line. Same thing on some of the other trails, did some hike a bike when my nerve wasn't quite there. No real Oh-crap moments - had one rock roll over and when I got to the transition I thought that even the 29er wheel would disappear!! Next time (and I will go again, just wish it was closer to home) I'll be more geared up (in head space). I could see camping over night and riding 2 days. My SO asked if she could hike as I can't see her riding some of these trails.. She'd ride the double track I'm sure and maybe a few of the others but it's been a few years since she's ridden (used to ride Hardwood, I think it was going over the bars that has put her off riding)

Greg_0 .....Mike said there open till the end of the month

So I've been to Buckwallow and got the shirt

A late season ride at Buckwallow. A new trail opens, so there is the question of a name. Hoof Hearted or Buck Naked?
