    Brauns in Kitchener closed yesterday

Saw an ad on Kijiji from someone trying to get contact info to get their bike out.

sounds like the old " it's sometimes tough to be in business with family" thing. Did Braun's run some races about 10 years ago?

I worked for these guys for a short period during university. The warning signs were a long time coming. I left because of poor organization/lack of structure.... and my pay cheques were bouncing. This was six years ago.

While the owners were nice, their business model was flawed (clearly) and they definitely weren't cyclists.

That article is strange. Doesn't sound like a fun family to be a part of!
Please enjoy seeing this terrible collection of me - something wonderful is about to happy.

Looks like the guy is getting his bike back OK.

Hard to say what's going on. It may not be a family thing at all, may just be the first steps required for the business to go bankrupt. Someone has to pull the plug to initiate it. Might even be desirable, freeze the inventory before suppliers start taking it back. From the sounds of the posts at the link above, their suppliers had already shut them down.
