    Blue Mountain Video

I was at Blue Mountain on Sunday and thought I would share the experience. For those of you like myself who are XC riders, let me just say that Blue Mountain is fun no matter what your preferred discipline is. The fast flow of Embryo and Haole is a blast, and the high speed bermed switchbacks of Showcase are amazing. I highly recommend checking out Blue mountain and giving it a go. Some trails are completely rideable on a hardtail and the most difficult trails are easily rideable with a 6-inch bike.

    Cheers,

    Seb

Hey, that was a great video thanks
Did you miss some skinnies in the middle?
I'm not a down hill rider but that just looks like a lot of fun.
    Kidding about the skinnies.

    Thanks

Good video post. What type of helmet cam did you use? The depth perspective in the video seems a little shallow. There are sections of Haole and Embryo that are steeper than seen in the video. Just an observation.
I like Blue Mountain as well and fav trails are Embryo, Fresh Air, Raisin Run and the Ridge. Nice and flowy and fast. On the weekend we tried a newer section on the other side called Happy Valley which is a fun super-d. Check it out

Really cool video. Thanks again for sharing.

I'd love to try that one day. I'm sure I'd melt the brakes off of a bike on some of those trails, but I think it would be a blast none the less.

Was that shot with a Go Pro Hero camera ?
Weird how the helmet mount makes the helmet appear to
    never move .

Yeah it was a GoPro Wide. Its unfortunate that it does not show how steep some of the sections are. Grab Bag had really steep sections but they barely look like downhills on video. Riding O-Chute was insanely steep but I didn't have the camera for that run.

My helmet doesn't really move anyways when I'm riding. My head is usually floating on the neck and below the neck does all the movements. But yeah, it is a cool effect.

    Thanks for the props guys!
    Cheers,

    Seb

    Dude, your video is sick.

I've never tried DH or SuperD before and when people talked about going to Blue I always thought I wasn't hardcore enough. Now I see there are a few casual runs where you can get your feet wet.

LOL!!! Great video 2_Tires ... made even better since I'm in it!

I noticed you edited out some of the more interesting (hairier) sections on Shot Glass and Squeeker. What happened?

I bailed close to the top of Shot Glass and my camera fell into a weird angle which made for bad video. Not sure what sections your talking about on Squeeker, didn't really find that trail too interesting.

    Thanks man,
Great video, are full face helmets mandatory at Blue? Will definitely go next week.

It never looks as steep on video as it does in real life...I rode in Whistler last summer and then watched the last segment of Seasons as soon as I got home and it hardly did the level of difficulty justice, even with The Collective's amazing cinematography. Doesn't help that the riders make it look rather easy also. Original Sin while it was raining was notably hairy even though I was on a Devinci Ollie (8 inch bike). The downhill course for crankworx was still marked, but not open, though some people were checking it out by foot....it was insane!
