Another contestant in the MEC Dirt Search contest
Simcoe County Mountain Bike Club has also been very fortunate to be selected to play in MEC's Dirt Search contest.
Our submission to MEC was to build a 10 km loop trail on virgin land that we have access to right now.
I realize that our club is new and we are trying something different in the mountain bike community, but if you are looking for another voting option, please consider us.

Just curious - is the $10,000 going to machine-built 10km?
It will likely be mostly hand built single track, with the exception of tough grade areas where a walk behind high-hoe can be used to build benches. Through membership and sponsorship funds, we have already commenced a tool inventory for building and maintenance but rental or tool purchase may be options.
We have numerous pieces of land to work with and as such we have had many discussions of how the club will be able to continue to cut lots of trail each year. One of those is that the club flags the trail, we contract a landscape company to work with us and cut the trail in then volunteers finish it off and sign. Its just one option if funding is available.
One guarantee is that no member of the club or executive will get paid to do work or put any of the funds in their pocket.
