Don't forget to turn your lights out and do something fun for an hour (or longer! )

I was thinking of going for a bike ride. I am concerned about the safety of riding on the roads at night time though, so I might not.

If not, I'll just shut down my computers, turn off my lights, and watch the hockey game in the dark.

So where did you get that battery powered TV?
Or do you have it hooked up to the bike trainer?

So you want me to turn EVERYTHING off?

    What is your plan?

Riding my trainer in the dark would be safe, but I might actually fall asleep. lol

Ya, but if you have the trainer hooked up to the TV you can watch the game, and not fall asleep.

No kidding...We will have the hockey game on too...Lights out, but for all of the green things we do on a regular basis, my Saturday night ritual will remain in tact, just with the lights off.
A bad day on the bike is better than a good day doing anything else...

Unfortunately, I don't have the equipment to make such a connection.

Sounds better than our candle-light dinner idea.

    Well, that's over.

We went out to East Side Marios to celebrate my cousin's birthday. Walked out of the restaurant at 8:00, got home at 8:20.

Then I decided it would be a good time to test out my new lights, so I did end up going for a very short ride around the neighbourhood. By the time i got back home, and changed earth hour was over.

Played candlelight legos with my daughters, then told scary stories on the couch until bedtime..by the time they were tucked in the hour was up and the lights could come back on

I couldn't convince my wife that with the TV being an LCD unit, it used less energy than a regular TV, so it was okay

It was interesting to see some of the neighbourhood buying into the whole thing, while others seemed to have every light in the house on.

I was shopping at Walmart, hoping to stock up for free (no cameras if there's no power ).

They didn't turn off a ****in' thing, lousy pricks.

I had to pay for everything I bought.
