4 hours of Chicopee August 21st (Kitchener)

Should be good times. Started new thread as I could not figure out how to change the date in the title of the old one.

From what Cliff was saying last week we will be running the same course as the Thursday night series. I believe the final Thursday race is tonight so you could pre-ride it for fun at 6:30...

The weekly race has not included the switchbacks this year. They have talked about having them in all laps after the start but have not moved to that plan. Instead we climb the loose gravel service road which provides a good spot for fast climbers to pass. Other climbs are done in mostly tight spots. There is quite a bit of climbing involved in each lap. I just looked for a basic Chicopee trail map but did not find one. I was going to do my best to highlight the course to post it. Oh well. It is a fun course with some really nice fast flowy sections different pitch up's and downs and quite a bit of singletrack. There is nothing overly technical on the course for better or worse. I have not figured out why but every Thursday I am good for one bail on the course.

Confirmed no ski-hill switchbacks as they are currently not part of the trail network. Anyone making it out to KW this weekend? Bump :-)

Good times at the race today. Congrats to I believe it was jcr1 on his 2nd place finish even tho a flaw in the scoring system showed him completing one less lap than he actually did...

It was a great and hard day on the bike. Nice to meet you Eggman. Going up that ski hill 2.5 time per lap (about 35 times total) in 4hrs made me pretty happy that this little hill is not higher.

It was a low key race but always frustrating when they forget to count one of your lap and they (the timers) tell you that all those people rode faster than you when you actually lapped most of them. Oh well, fun day and unofficially 2nd overall, missed out the free degreaser bottle.
