2008 Ontario Western New York Racing Season

    Hey Everyone,

I've been working at putting together a complete list of Mountain Bike Only Races and Events for the Southern Ontario Western New York area.
I think I've captured most if not all of the events out there.
    2008 Racing Schedule
Please have a look see and if you don't see a Race or Event that you know of listed let me know and I can add it.

I hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, violence, or insanity to anyone, but they've always worked for me.

Very nice, this thread needs a sticky. I didn't even know about the Tour of Pelham, and it's in my back yard!
How could you forget about the Squeezer though? http://www.libertybicycles.com/squeezer/

Although only available to students, perhaps the University Cup is worth adding?

Keep an eye on wildrock.net to see if they run their Wednesday night race series in the Ganaraska again. Last year it started mid-May. It was a very relaxed atmosphere, but there were some very fast racers there.

Excellent! I have most of these events in my lists, but it's great to have it up for everyone to reference.

    A couple suggestions:

    - change the Icebreaker to "MTB - Enduro" since it does have a 50k category and BikeNXS is including it in the Enduro series with the Gear Grinder and Enduro Championships.

    - if you want to add University Cups (yes I know they're kind of exclusive to a certain group) the assumed dates and locations based on last year will be:
    • 13/14 Sept. University Cup #1 Crit, TT and XC races (Mansfield)
    • 21 Sept. University Cup #2 XC (Hardwood)
    • 28 Sept. University Cup #3 XC (Ganaraska)
    • 05 Oct. University Cup #4 XC (Boler)

    Wow. Very nice resource.
I really do wish the Great Divide race started round here though. Are you thinking of doing it?
    Cheers, Dave

I think they may be changing a venue this year.. so hold that thought.

Also, Thanks for the great resource!

    To every who replied...
Thanks for the comments and the input.

I made a few more changes to the list.
I'd like to only add confirmed races/events at this time, so as dates are announced or posted I can update this list.

I don't think the University or for that matter the High School events will be added.
They are not open to the general public.

The Wednesday Night Series last year was sponsored by the Toronto TREK Store... I see they are now doing the Wednesday races at Hardwood for 2008.

I'm pretty positive it will be running, but I wouldn't be suprised if they did some of the Tuesday's at Cold Creek due to its proximity to Albion. Based on the great turnout last season I can't imagine it not running. The Tuesday series is a ton of fun.

Until it's actually confirmed I won't be putting it on the list.
There are a few other races that are run each year but have not announce their 2008 date yet I'm waiting on as well.
As they are confirmed I'll add them at that time.

If anyone knows of confirmed races not on the list please post them up with weblinks if possible.

Hey, does this mean that Mansfield will reopen for riding?

FROM the event details on the BIKENXS site race #3.

"Course details will be available in late July for pre-riding in preparation for this grand finale in the Trek Enduro Series. Make this event the peak of your mountain bike race season!"
