    12 hour drive south

Old Man Winter is giving me the blues. I'm thinking of trying to drive somewhere warmer to ride for a long weekend. Looking for ideas of locations within a 10-12 hour drive from Toronto. Any ideas?

The warmest place would probably be Joyride 150...

I'm heading to brevard N.C in march. Been watching the weather and its under winter storm watch (not like our kinda lol). But it's been aroun 5-10c for the last couple weeks. Its about a 15 hour drive so I'm not sure if you will find any warmer with less distance.

Been thinking about the same trip, end of March, beginning of April. Unfortunately, April is one of their wettest months.

I'm praying for no rain. Cold doesnt bother me but the rain would suck.

I did a Pisgah trip two years ago at the beginning of April and it was WET. When it rains there, it doesn't sputter. Thankfully the trails take it really well but we lost an entire day to rain. I wouldn't recommend going any earlier than April. That said, the riding there is excellent so long as you're prepared to climb for your smiles. Brevard has an excellent MTB community and great vibes. The drive was 14hrs from Oakville. For my next spring trip I'll be looking to spend more time riding and less driving so thinking to just fly further south for guaranteed good weather and a change of scenery.

My team goes down every year for march break and they have always had good luck. This will be my first trip with them. Fingers crossed.

Other then Arizona and mabye California, where further south would be good riding? Ocala fl had some great trails and at times you can fly out of buffalo to Orlando for under 100.00.

Do you rent a house or how does the team handle accommodations?

I was thinking end of March. 10deg will feel like 25 after the -double digits we've been having.

I've been down to NC/SC a few times, and almost always get rain on a few days.
Always stayed on the SC side close to Table rock. The cabins at the State Park are good (basic, no TV or wifi)
