XTR Rapid Fire Shifter
I just bought a new used MTB bike. it has a complete XTR drivetrain with rapid fire shifters. the rear shifter pod thumb lever shifts the chain to a stiffer gear. traditionally i have always ridden with it the other way. can you switch the functions of the shifting levers on them?
thanks

Sounds like you have a rapid rise RD; the only way to change it is to get a high normal RD. It has nothing to do with the shifter. I assume it's 9 speed? Online you can still get the SLX RD M662 or XT M772 or if lucky the XTR M972 any of them will work fine with the shifters.
Otherwise you can always just try and get used to it
