    XTR FC-M952 chainring removal

I have the Park BBT8 tool, but cannot get the lock ring to move at all.

I took off the spring ring thing.

I want to be turning Counter-Clockwise , right?

Is there a trick to this??

    Thanks
    Jim

    Burton,

I did this operation myself. It is a conventional thread pattern, but I noted how incredibly tight mine was. It needed an incredible amount of leverage to budge it. I think I finally stepped on it, using the crankarm for leverage.

PS- What's the avatar of? Looks almost like Apollyon Sun.

put the tool in a vice, put the crank on the tool, get a rubber mallet and start tapping the end of the crank to slowly break it loose..
