    Xtr

This is what I have on my bike now......

Shimano LX rear derailleur, Shimano Deore shifters, Shimano Deore front derailleur | Shimano M442 44/32/22, Shimano M485 brakes

I would like to put on XTR shifters and rear derailleur. Can I just put those on?
Or, would I need to change other stuff as well?

    Thanks

You can put pretty much any mix of Shimano on you want, will work fine. I'm assuming your rear cassette is matching the shifters for number of speeds.

Ok, say I wanted to put Sram XO rear derailleur and shifters on. What else would I need to change to make that work?
    Just weighing my options.
    Thanks

As long as you match SRAM rear derailleur to a rear shifter (front derailleur will work with either SRAM or Shimano shifter) and you're matching number of speeds of your cassette, no problem.

    Xtr Sram

If I were you, and maybe I am...... mmm

I'd buy X.0 rear D and X.0 Shifters... you'll save a ton of money over XTR and they are almost the same in quality. I have a bike with XTR front and rear D's with XTR speed shifters and a bike with X.0 rear and front D's and X.0 shifters and the difference is negligible at best. Buy save some money and Go X.0.
