XT & XTR Compatibility & Rapid Rise

    Hi,

Does anyone know if I can use an XTR Rapid rise rear derailler (M953) with XT shifters (M750) ?

Is there such thing as a rapid rise front derailleur and/or shifter ? I'm assuming the rapid rise is only the rear derailleur ?

    Ken.

    Ken.
Rapid Rise refer's to only the rear derailleur (RD). It works opposite from traditional RD's. Some call it backwards. It doesn't matter which shifter you use.

    Thanks for the info.

I sort of knew what Rapid rise was but wanted to confirm that it was rear derailleur specific.

I was going to say that. There are exceptions though. Like how Saint rotors don't work with regular centerlock hubs.
