xt shadow bent
I bent my xt shadow derailleur it is bent on the top part that hooks to the derailleur hanger and it looks like it can just unbolt with a torx bolt and a new one bolted on. Does anyone know if they sell this part separately or do I need to get a new derailleur? It would seem odd that shimano would not sell this part separately it is like a replaceable mini derailleur hanger.
Yes, they do and Shimano has them in stock as of 3 weeks ago. The part number is:
- Y5W798130 - model: XT-M772/SLX-M662 (Shadow) B-Axle Assy -
and they cost around $20 delivered to your dealer. I had a heck of a time finding a dealer that could order direct from Shimano as QBP was out of them. I orded some locally, but here is a link to an online place as well.
After bending that same part twice I put on a Hanger Banger. Knock on wood I have had no more problems
NSD claims the hangar bangers do not work with Shadow derailleurs, do you have a photo of yours and the model you bought?
I actually used the 4 jeri hanger which uses a threaded headless bolt to stabilize the hanger. I made my own bolt useing a drillpress and a file.No pics but it was very easy to do, There are several brands that will work, 4-Jeri,OEM on Specialized?
