XT M735 - Cassette or threaded freehub?

Does anyone remember if the Deore XT M735 7spd stuff from the late '80s, early '90s was available with both a cassette freehub and a thread on cassette? I am shopping or a cog set and need to know what my options are.

The 7 speed XT-II group introduced in 1989 had a freehub/cassette type rear hub.

Are you looking for a replacement cassette or a freewheel? I cannot recall whether or not they made freewheels for the old Deore XTII system (that's what I had on my '89 Stumpjumper Comp) but it came with a 7-speed freehub and cassette. Modern 8-speed cassettes will work in a pinch if you remove one cog (other than the smallest cog) because the cog spacing is just a little off compared to the 7-speed.

    Take a look at: http://www.firstflightbikes.com/shimano.htm

You can still get 7 speed cassettes if you look around. I know for a fact these guys have them as a friend just got one for his old Rocky.
