So last week I snapped my chain on a ride, pretty badly to teh point where my chain was all jammed in my derailleur. After fixing it my shifting was totally hosed up.
The drivetrain needed replacing anyway, so when I got home I put a new sram 991 chain and 990 cassette on. I went from a 32-24 big cog, but don't really think that matters since I measured the new chain with the new cassette.
So the shifting was fine in the stand, but actually riding, it was trying to jump gears. the derailleur (long cage) was about toast as well, so I threw a new x9 medium cage on there.
So now, with the whole new set up (rear derail, cassette, chain),the low limit screw won't adjust all the way to line up the pulley under the large cog, the best it will line up is in between the top two cogs.
With out the cable attached or the chain on (basically no tension) I can line it up. The minute I put tension on the derailleur, it's a no go. As a result the shifting is fine going up the cassette, but won't come down smoothly, or comes down hard and/or skips a gear.
Any thoughts on what it might be? The hanger doesn't look bent. It does look like it may be a bit off, but maybe a mm or so. Not enough that I can see it affecting anything, or having a reason to do with why the low limit won't fully adjust. I am at a loss at this point, so any help would be really appreciated.
