    Worn drivetrain components

Just curious, how often do you find yourself replacing chainrings, cassettes, chain, rear derailleurs?

If I have to change my rear cassette, I usually replace my chainring(1X9) and chain at the same time. I've had this particular bike 2 years and have only changed the derailleur because I wanted a short cage for my 1x9 instead of the long cage the bike came with. The RD is a Shimano XT M760 GS. What kind of life expectancy should I expect riding approx. 50 miles of single track weekly, with lets say a 1/3 of it being climbs?

BTW, I'm a 230lb Clyde. I tend to sit-n-spin up climbs on this bike (I save the stand-n-mash pedaling for my SS)

Everyone is different. The conditions you ride in , your chain maintenance and riding style are different to mine. I have no idea how long your drive train will last. One good ride in the mud can destroy a drive train.

depends on your ride style, frequency and terrain/abuse.. but I usually change the chain once a yr, the cassette after 2-3 chains (will start getting weird shifting or skipping with a new chain on a worn cassette) and the rings when the new chain starts skipping on it (should probably do it more often than that really)
Going to try and bring Trail Tire TV back. go take a look...
