    Will my XTR(m952) R-Der go 9spd?

Hello. I am planning on converting my bike to 9 spd. I am on a budget right now, so a brand new drivetrain isn't in the cards. My current setup is older XTR 8 spd. I was wondering if my M952 rear der will pair up well with a matching 9 spd shifter and a 9spd cassette. Also, will a LX or XT shifter work in a pinch, just in case I cant get my hands on a XTR on soon?

    Thanks a ton!

yes and vice versa. Add in a 9 speed chain too.

Any shimano 9 speed shifter will work with XTR.

Might be able to sell of the XTR-8 shifters on ebay and fund most of the whole thing that way.
