When did SRAM X9 trigger shifter gear indicator go away?

    Hey everyone,

I'm looking to replace my SRAM X9 trigger shifters and mine have the gear indicator. I looked on-line and can't find them anymore. When did SRAM discontinue the gear indicator on the X9 trigger shifters? Don't want to go to the twister version.

SRAM has ditched the gear indicator on most of their better shifters, you'd have to go down to X5 these days to get them. Why do you need them, you just shift when you need a different gear. I've never missed having gear indicators even though some shifters I've had over the years have them and some don't. A quick trip to Ebay should find you a set with indicators if you really want them, or you can get a set of X5's.

I found a few on Ebay. I always liked that feature knowing what gear you are in by just glancing at the shifters.

Once you have shifters without the indicators and ride for a few days you'll never miss them. Just give it a shot. I promise it becomes a not existent thought once you get used to it.
