What is the latest Shimano XT/XTR Dual Control pods that where Avid BB7 compatible?

(edit - "where" should be were)

The title says it all. I'm trying to learn the last model number of Shimano XT/XTR dual control pods that were mechanical disc brake compatible. All current Dual Control offerings appear to be hydraulic.

I have found XTR M961 dual control pods but don't know if something came later.

    Thanks!

I thought they did dual control in the 970 generation but I'm not positive. Most people didn't care for it at all so it didn't stay around too long.

The M970s and M965s I've seen have been hydraulic.

In that case 960 is as current as you're going to get.

There are some awesome hydraulic brakes on the market these days, fwiw.

I'm certainly not bashing hydros. My question is centered around a bikepacking rig I want to build for multi-day, unsupported trips. I already have BB7s and a mechanical setup would be easier to service in the middle of nowhere with minimal tools. Carrying extra brake fluid for an emergency repair sounds like a spill waiting to happen.

My attraction to dual control levers is keeping the bars clean and uncluttered for accessories and hand positions.

Edit - I just found this - Shimano XTR (ST-M970) combined lever | VeloSpec - bikes and components specifications

Looks like the M970 did have a V-brake/9sp Dual Control option.

Yes, 970 dual controls had the V Brake version.
    Just as Deore,XT, and LX.
Actually, the latest XT dual control were very much alike the XTRs. You may like them too.
    Cheers

I recently bought some Dual Control XT's on eBay. They were NOS and I'm using them with BB7's. I like the controls, not too in love with the BB7's though. Mine are an older model than the ones posted above.
