    weight shimano slx crank

Hi im looking into shimano's slx double cranks set, because I want 22-36 gearing, they sound quite good but a bit heavy. Does anyone have acurate weights? Can the bash guard be taken off to save weight and if so how much? Aso BB weight would be good too

The complete kit, cranks, bb and guard, weigh almost exactly a kilo. I think the number is 996g for the 175mm arms. Middle ring is alloy, small is steel, all standard 104/64 bcd so you can fit any chain ring/back combination you want. Including no bash at all.

As for taking stuff off I don't know, put a Supercharger, 36 and 26t steel rings on mine and made it even heavier.

Crank arm actually lighter than XT. You can replace the Bash with lighter one, though you may need spacers for the chain ring bolts, as it would be too long. Unless you are getting another thick bash.
