    Truvativ X9 38-24 conversion and X-Guide

I currently have a 2013 X9 crankset with 39-26 gearing and an X-Guide chain tensioner on my Transition. My old legs are protesting the 26t granny, and I would like to convert to 38-24, using the conversion kit SRAM sells. Anyone know if I can do so and still run the X-Guide? It looks like the 104/64 spider conversion kit comes with a bashguard that would interfere, and I can't tell if simply removing it would solve the problem, as I'm guessing that spider was intended originally for 3x10. Thanks,

    SRAM USA were very helpful:

Thanks for your email. If your crank uses a GXP spindle, we sell a spider/chainring combo to convert it to 38-24. It comes with a carbon bash guard, but that can easily be replaced with spacers that will allow you to continue running the X Guide. The part number is 00.6215.005.020.
