is there any difference between XT 765/760 and 766/761

i just noticed that shimano released (updated) the XT dual control levers to 766/761. is there any appreciable difference between the 765/760 generation and the "new" 766/761 version. Im curious because i just purchased some XT 760 and wonder if i missed out on anything. anyway any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks elgordo

btw is see 766/761 for sale however they are not yet up on shimanos website.

Haven't heard anything about the 761/6 series. They did the same with the XTR. They changed from 960/965 to 961/966. The only change was the use of a resin thumb lever instead of a metal one and the lever blade was slightly more ergonomic in design. Hardly noticeable differences. I would assume they made similar minor changes to the XT's.

I'd say on the contrary. Quiet updates like this are very minor and mostly insignificant improvements/fixes. When its big enough they really want us to know, trust me you probably wouldn't be asking this here. Thats marketing
