    Tapered steerer tube help

Hi guys, I just purchase a fork with tapered steerer tube. My frame's tube is for 1.5 tube and so is my headset, would I get away just using a headset reducer on the top so I don't have to buy a new headset? any advise is appreaciated. Thanks!

Most of the headset reducers I see are for the headtube not the fork so of no use in your situation, but you might find one suited you your needs.

IMO this is a less than ideal application and I suggest buying the appropriate headset.

Do not get rid of your existing headset, because with the exception of rust, upper headset stacks last forever, with all the wear and tear on the lower stack. That means you can continue using one of the lower stacks and keep the second as a spare.

The key to solving any problem is to understand and address the underlying cause.
