swapping from E-type to seatclamp f.d.
I'm switching from an E-type front der. on my Fisher Aquila to a seatpost clamp der. My bb shell is 73 mm wide and my current spindle length is 113 mm. Should I stay with the same spindle length, or go slightly shorter to compensate for the missing E-Type?
If your bike is stock, then it sounds like you have a 73x113 E-type B.B on your bike ( the DS spindle is a few mm's shorter because the E-type FD pulls the B.B. over to the right - check the b.b. to confirm)
You have two options ( with your current set-up - cranks haven't changed)
1) Buy a new (non E-type) 73x113mm B.B.
2) Space out your current 73x113 mm E-type B.B. a few mm's to the right (measure the thickness of your old E-type FD to get the correct width needed)
