Swapping Deore XT bottom bracket and cranks to GT???

I have a GT Outpost that has Suntour cranks, chain rings, and bottom bracket. (I think, I don't even really know what the hell a bottom bracket is)

It is bent, I got a Giant Acapulco that has Shimano Deore XT cranks and Shimano mega drivetrain chain rings and bottom bracket. (again, I think)

My question is, will the Shimano stuff swap over to the GT without an issue? If so, what all tools do I need and is this something a guy can do at home who happens to lack a lot of bike wrenching skills.

If the bottom bracket shell is the same width on both bikes you should be able to swap them, if not, you will need a new bottom bracket that matches the shell width of your GT and the spindle length of the current bottom bracket on the Giant.

You'll need a crank puller and a cartridge bottom bracket tool

There are several online tutorials for bottom bracket and crank removals. Check park tools website and Utah Mountain Biking
