New question here. Stylo Team Cranks?

I am installing a set of Stylo Team cranks and a Gigapipe BB bracket on my Giant Iguana Disc and I am wondering if I need to use a 9 speed chain or will the 8 speed chain work with this setup? The bike is stock with 8 speed cassette. Any help is appreciated.

Just put a Stylo/Gigapipe setup on my 8 speed Trek- no probs. Use Loctite and a torque wrench.

You have to use a 8 speed chain since you cassette is 8 speed. The front chainrings don't matter, 8 or 9 will work on them. Stylo Team is a nice set, been running it for 2 years, finally had to replace the chainrings from too much mileage

I run the same set up 9 sp crank 8sp cassette. The problem I had with an 8 sp chain
was it would click on the shifting pins on the inside of the big ring. It did this only
when I ran on my middle ring and #5,6,7 in back. This is was because of the thicker
8sp chain and the steeper chainline angle in those gears. Maybe my chainline is not
set up right. But when I switched to a 9sp chain everything was ok, with no
shifting problems with my 8sp cassette. My drivetrain runs silent now.
    Good Luck
