    STX-RC 7 speed to 9 speed

I want to change freehubs on my STX-RC to fit a 9 speed cassette. Will any LX or better freehub fit? It looks like the easiest way of doing it. The O.L.D. is the same width as my XTR 9 speed hub but the freehub on the STX-RC is just a little too small.

Should, you'll just need to adjust your axle cones and remove a spacer.

Or, you can remove one cog and run 8 speeds with a 9 speed shifter (just lock out the last gear) on the existing freehub body.
