    I'm afraid to say that looks like operator error :-(

    If the rest of the mech is OK, you'll be able to get a new bolt and it'll be as good as new in no time, just pop to your local shimano dealer, they should be able to get one in for you.

    Yes, I bought it like this...and was hoping to replace the bolt myself. I looked it over and can't figure out how to remove it unless perhaps it's pressed in? Who sells them online?

    I think whoever removed it confused is 3/16 Allen wrench (0.1875") for his 5mm (0.19685"). I suspect he wouldn't admit it though.
