    SRP products!

Gotta love their breakaway rear der bolts. This thing can save your rear derailleur from being dismantled upon impact with... whatever it is you're planning on crashing into.

For me, it was never known, but the cable held the der. to the bike and I was carrying a spare. Try that sometime when you're 40 miles away from the trailhead.

Been using SRP for yeeeeears and just rec'd an eMail from them. One of the few welcome spam messages I receive from a gazillion companies.

    Check 'em here.

What's there to stop the derailleur (that is swinging around only being held by the cable) from then flying into the spokes?

    Really not a passion post.

Most definitely a Drivetrain related post.

    Should be moved.

I'm trying to figure out what exactly is the deal with that SRAM Rear Derailleur Cable Clamp bolt theyre trying to sell. It looks like a bolt head with no threads. Its like a M5x0 bolt Anyone know whats going on with this thing?

BTW they require you to spend a minimum of $20 to be able to buy anything off their site.

I think it's actually a nut, it has internal threads.

Have you asked SRP about this bolt? If it is described on their site as a cable clamp bolt, then this bolt with a short length of threads will clamp the cable.
