    sram X5 H L screw default...??

My cable got pulled loose from my derailer so I decided to just loosen the cable and readjust the derailleur to make sure I get the smoothest shifting. I am having problems with getting the derailleur to move at all with the L adjustment and was wondering if anyone knew a good starting place to have the screw. Should it be screwed all the way in or out..?? or should it be screwed in all the way and then backed off a turn or two..?? Any help would be appreciated.

Also I'm fairly new to working on my own bike but I really want to learn so that in the future I'm not running my bike to the shop for every little thing that I should be able to do myself, thanks.

The screw should be where it needs to be to set the limit properly, that's it.

this page is helpful for learning the adjustment process

Thanks for that, after reading through that article I got the derailleur working like a charm and it really cleared up what the H and L screw does.
