    SRAM x.7

Is SRAM x.7 good stuff or what? I am more of a roadie and would like to get a new MTB for not a boatload of $$$. I like steel and I like the looks of the Jamis Dragon Sport 29.
Is the SRAM stuff okay to do some smooth singletrack or should I spend a little more to get higher quality?
I am not going to fubar this bike, but I don't want to waste money either.
    Thanks,
    Kevin

Think of X7 as Rival or 105. Pretty much as good as the higher end stuff just not as light and flashy.

I will say I have not been happy with X7 front derailers, but upgrading to an XT wont cost that much if you wind up feeling the same way.

Thanks. I was kinda hoping for a road to mtb translation like that.

A little more plastic, less positive shifting etc but overall a very solid offering for the price.
