    SRAM TRX or Shimano Alivio

I'm replacing my shifters and trying not to spend too much money because I plan on buying a new bike in the next few months. I can get both the Shimano Alivio and SRAM TRX for about the same price and just wanted your opinions. Would you get Sram or Shimano?

Are the shifters you currently have broken? If they're not, and you're buying a new bike soon, then there's really no reason to replace them. Just put the money into the new bike.

yes, my left side shifter is broken. The right side is ok but they wern't very good to begin with. (Shimano Acera) The reason I don't just buy a new bike now is I still want a bike for my friends to ride if they ever feel like going.
