    SRAM Gripshift cables....Question

I have Sram Rocket Shortys on my bike right now and I'm going to change the cables casings on my bike today and seem to remember that SRAM shifters use a slightly smaller cable diameter than standard Shimano cables??? Is this correct? or did SRAM make the switch to standard cables at some time? Thanks Guys

well, I figured it out with the help of my local bike shop but for future reference for people doing searches here on the board......Shimano gear cables are 1.2mm and SRAM gear cables are 1.1mm. The extra .1mm in diameter on the Shimano cable is enough to cause SRAM Gripshifters to not function/rotate correctly. Sounds crazy that .1mm would make a difference but it does, I tried threading a 1.2mm cable through the cable port on my Rockets and it almost locks them up tight when rotating the shifter.
