SRAM Eagle XX1 12 spd - black chain or gold

Does anyone know if there is any difference between these chains?
aside from the look of course.
    thanks

The golden one typically runs a few bucks moar.

Performance wise they are identical. Babes will throw their g-string at those running the gold because, well, gold.

I think the gold uses a titanium nitride coating ( which is why it's gold) that makes it last longer.

Not sure. Found this on the SRAM site:
" HARD CHROME™ technology extends the chain’s optimal performance life, and a Titanium Nitride coating on the Gold and Black models decreases corrosion and further reduces friction."

It doesn't. It's purely for aesthetic. I run TiN coated bits in my CNC lathe and they last a few hours tops before the coating gets scraped off and the tool needs to be sharpened.

Coincidentally I have TiN coated chain and it looks like this:

SRAM Eagle XX1 12 spd - black chain or gold-scraped_off.jpg

after mere 300 miles. Notice that the gold is scraped off by the front mech on the side plates.
