    SRAM CX1 - can I use 11-42 cogset?

So I've got CX1 on my cross bike. I love it, but for the 38 tooth chainring up front paired with a 36 tooth big cog in back. Some 15% fire roads just straight up suck in that ratio.

Can I put the 11-42 on the CX1 driver? Does the CX1 derailleur fit that wide of a spread without modification to the cage?

Short of that, I almost never spin out 38x10. Is it possible to get a smaller chainring up front? That would be an easier solution...

To use the 11-42 in the back you would also need the long cage rear derailleur as the 11-36 tooth uses a medium.

The PG-1130 cassette is 11-42 and will fit on a Shimano driver.

The XG-1150 cassette is 10-42 and requires the SRAM XD driver.

I go with a smaller ring, maybe try a 34t.

That's my thinking. Even at 100 rpm, that gives a top speed of 25-27 mph.

Any concerns with chainline? We ran into some problems with a direct mount chainring that had the wrong offset on my wife's bike, but I think that might have been a boost vs. non-boost issue.
