Sram chain rings don't for my XO??

Got this Chainring set with the spider in 26/39 to upgrade my 24/36 XO ones but when I swapped out the rings the spiders would not go in cuz the XO arms are fatter then the groove on the spider? The guy I bought it from said they fit all XO, X9, X7 but it was not the case here on my XO....does anyone have more info on these?

    Is your X0 crankset a BB30?

If it's a GXP model, that might explain it. This spider pictured is for a BB30 crankset.

Or this spider is for the aluminum arms (X9, X7) but not the carbon (X0) arms. My X0 arms are much fatter than my X9 arms.

QBP lists spiders specific to X9 or X0.

My cranks are GXP not BB30...I looked into this before i purchased and nothing on Sram site that said anything about anything being incampatible in this realm....pisses me off and a waste of time on my behalf. I did find out the carbon cranks are different then the alloy ones just now.....so a BB30 XO spider with a 120 BCD will not work on my XO cranks?

Not to rub salt in your fresh wounds, but there are multiple choices for bike components these days, and reasons that they offer them. They list about a dozen replacement spiders on the SRAM website, very clearly delineating the BB type as an option.

This is like putting diesel in a gasoline engine. Probably should have known before you bought it.

This is what I read on the website on Chainrings.....

•Convert your Specialized crank to SRAM 2x10
    •Available in the following options:
    •XX Chainrings & Spider for S-Works Crank 2639 (specialized)
    •XX Chainrings & Spider for S-Works Crank 2842 (specialized)
•10-spd Chainring Set 38-24 with X9 Specialized GXP Spider 49 Chainline 104/64 BCD
•10-spd Chainring Set 36-22 with X9 Specialized GXP Spider 49 Chainline 104/64 BCD

    •Convert your SRAM 2x10 crank to 38-24 or 36-22
    •Available with these options:
    •All Mtn Guard 38-24 with X0 GXP Spider 49 Chainline 104/64 BCD
    •All Mtn Guard 38-24 with X0 BB30 Spider 49 Chainline 104/64 BCD
    •All Mtn Guard 38-24 with X9 GXP Spider 49 Chainline 104/64 BCD
    •All Mtn Guard 38-24 with X9 BB30 Spider 49 Chainline 104/64 BCD
    •All Mtn Guard 36-22 with X0 GXP Spider 49 Chainline 104/64 BCD
    •All Mtn Guard 36-22 with X0 BB30 Spider 49 Chainline 104/64 BCD
    •All Mtn Guard 36-22 with X9 GXP Spider 49 Chainline 104/64 BCD
    •All Mtn Guard 38/24 with X0 GXP Spider 49 Chainline 104/64 BCD

So maybe I got confused with the 49? being the same for both.

Well, if they think the BB type is worth mentioning, perhaps it's worth looking into as a potential customer.

Well when the mechanic at my LBS couldn't say for sure if there were any incampaitible differences, maybe that would have help avoiding this big drama. I'm just a student sitting in a class room right now eager to learn...

So if both BB30 and GXP have a "49mm" the same chainline, where is the offset?

So does that mean that there is problems with the spiderless chainrings between BB styles too?

Yes. I know the MRP Bling Rings aren't rated to be used with a BB30 crankset. There are those that have made them work, but chainline often isn't optimal. Lots of examples in the Bling Ring thread.
