    Sram 990 cassette red spacer!

Hi there, Ive been given as a present this cassette but it comes without instructions, I have installed other cassettes before but I dont remember to use a spacer and this cassette comes with one (its also red...see the crappy pic..), has anybody know if the spacer is for being installed between the hub and the cassette??is it compulsory to install it or only in certain cases??cheers in advance!!

it goes on before the cog without the built in spacer. can't remember which one.

look at the 4 removeable cogs and you'll see one that is flat, that is the spacer for it.

Okay, there are 2 flat cogs, the one with 16t and the one with 14t..so I assume the red washer goes between these 2 cogs....as the big one goes against the rest of the sprockets because there is a lip that acts as a washer....I think I see it, I will try to mount it and see if this is like this, cheers for the help!!
