Should I go with steel chainrings?

Im already tired of replacing toothless and bent rings, Im going granny, middle and bash. Are steel rings ok to use as long as the middle has ramps and pins? If so, where can I get them, Im having a hell of a time finding any combination of 24, 36 E13 bash in a 4 bolt.

they'll certainly wear more slowly. doesn't matter if they have ramps or pins, those help shifting under load.
try finding some deore level middle/small rings, those are steel and best bang for the buck! aebike (http://aebike.com/page.cfm?PageID=30&action=details&sku=CR2491), bikeman, jenson, your LBS, etc.

For a nice middle ring without ramps/pins check out surly's stainless rings.
