    New question here. Shimano XT

I was lookin to upgrade the Derailleurs shifters etc.. to XT and i would also like to get a race face crankset and bb. I'm new to bike mechanics and will probably have the local bikeshop do it for me. But what i was wondering is if that is even compatible and around what it would cost for all those componets and shifter and whatever i need for the switch. thanks

It should work just fine. Prices vary but check webstores for a guide, and expect to pay more from your LBS. I'd plan to replace derailleurs, shifters, cables, chain, and cassette. Cost around 300, I guess? RF cranksets run between 150ish (for Evolve series + bb) to 260ish for the X drive series (incl bb). Fitment and adjusting will obviously cost a bit on top of that.

I'd consider old school XT trigger shifters, not the fancy brake lever

I just found a RaceFace evolve XC crank and bottom bracket on sale at Cambriabike.com for about 115 for the pair. I was thinking about picking them up myself instead of replacing my broken XT chainrings, but i am not sure if the Raceface cranks are compatible with Shimano 9 spd. Let me know if any of you know if they are.
