Shimano ST-M580 brake shifters any good.

I've always used trigger shifters and have never tried the integrated brake lever shifters on a mountain bike. Can't seem to find any reviews on this stuff. Has anyone used this?

Those are the Dual Control shifters. They basically work like road bike shifters except they are for mountain bikes. You push down or pull up on the brake lever to change gears. There is also a thumb trigger to push if you don't like to pull up. These are made to work with Rapid Rise rear derailleurs. Which is when the cable is fully released it's in the easiest gear instead of the hardest gear. If you have a regular rear derailleur the display on the shifters will be backwards.

Some people love them, some hate them. I got a set a couple of years ago. I definately prefer the normal trigger. For me, I kept accidentailly changing gears when I was descending on rough terrain. Other then that they are ok.
