Shimano Shadow plus derailleurs, Long term maint.

Any advise for long term maintenance? I've been running my XTR shadow plus for a year and a half. Very happy with overall performance. Adjusting the tension is very easy. However, I've noticed that the action is getting a little sticky, thinking that I should greese the rotating wheel? Anyone do this? Would standard bearing greese work? Any other "long term" maint.?

I'd say a small amount of bearing grease would work just fine. Just check the thread isnt going first. After a year and a half it could be wear and tear.

I think I'm going to try that tonight. For the price of this derailleur, I'd hope that it will last a hell of a lot longer than one and a half years.

Yeah you'd hope so... I've just had a look at my barrel(it's very new) and i'd definitely say there is grease in there. Whack it on and should be all good.
