    Shimano Rear Derailleur washer?

Removed rear derailleur(XT) to ship bike to England from Taiwan in a bike box. Shifting is now very sticky. Should there be a washer between the RD and hanger? This could be the reason for the shifting problems. thanks for any help

No washer. The last thing on there is a C-clip and the derailleur comes apart if it is missing. I would check to see if your hanger got bent. It sounds like you removed the derailleur to try to protect it but sometimes the hanger can still get bent.
