    Shimano Deore XT Rear Derailer

    can i use a Shimano Deore XT Rear Derailer with a 7 speed bike? Thanks.

    It would help to know what cassette/freewheel, chain and shifters will be used, but assuming the rest of the parts are Shimano seven speed compatable -- yes, a Deore XT rear derailleur (RD-M735 and up) will work fine.
